August 26, 2005Kittie: Until The End
August 22, 2005I have a soft spot – a G-spot, if you will – for chick metal and chick punk. Can’t help it. I dig chicks, I dig guitars, I dig chicks with guitars.
There’s rules if you’re a chick with a guitar. Here’s a guiding principle: “If you don’t have the lung capacity to sound like the [...]
As I Lay Dying: Shadows are Security
August 18, 2005Band website: http://www.asilaydying.com/
I’m sure As I Lay Dying would love to claim that their latest release—Shadows are Security—is “all killer, no filler”. Well, at least there’s no filler.
Cast in the mold of purely likable bands such as In Flames, Shadows Fall and (of course) Killswitch Engage, the band you hear on Shadows plays tight and [...]
Comments Apologies
August 11, 2005Our apologies to Matt & Adam who posted comments over on the Devildriver review, which were never approved. Y’all must have slipped through the cracks; sorry about that… but they’re up now.
Thanks for stopping by The Fury, and we hope you’ll come back soon & often.
For the record, everyone agrees that The Fury of Our [...]

Also, Through the Eyes of the Dead have posted an MP3 from their upcoming release Bloodlust. The name of the song is “Two Inches from a Main Artery”, which you can download here. It’s [...]
New Music Online
August 8, 2005Following up on the Chimaira post in May, there’s a new ecard available from Roadrunner that lets you stream all the songs off the new Chimaira album. Check it out here. I didn’t get past the third song, and have no desire to hear more. Sorry guys, you suck now.
Following up on the Fear Factory [...]
Respite for the Sick Boy
August 4, 2005After talking out loud about the latest tune from Ill Niño, I listened to it four more times.
That one song is definitely something that I would put on max volume in the Blackura. Like Chimaira, however, I will not judge one way or another until the album is released.
Upcoming Local Shows
August 3, 2005Lamb of God hits the Recher Theater in Towson, MD tonight, but it’s sold out, and guess who forgot to buy tickets ahead of time?
Clutch announced new tour dates, incl. playing at Sonar in Baltimore, MD on Friday, Sept. 23rd. Sonar website says they’ll play two sets; tickets are $20.
Speaking of Sonar, Static-X headlines this [...]
Not Music Reviews
August 2, 2005Yeah, so I got the new Dope, and Jello Biafra + Melvins. [xref]
I won’t bother to officially review either of those here on The Fury. Why?
1) Dope has never been a great band or a newish sounding band or anything like that. They’ve always been fairly indistinguishable from the Orgy/American Headcharge/Static-X amalgam that exists in [...]
